Do you think i can get a loan on my truck.?

i really need a loan badly of 7 thousand dollors i dont have credit as im 22 now figures.I only need the money for 1 month a "short time!".I need the money for mechanical parts for motorcycles and i will turn the money within weeks.Im fortunate tho to have a chevy silverado its not new its a classic (80s era).But it is all redone and has a couple thousand into it well worth the loan just enough.Now i like working with credit unions (my bank is a teachers federal credit union).And people keep telling me i can put a loan on my truck or use it as collateral.Is this going to be easy to do and i need the truck to get to work so i cant have anyone hold it when it is collateral or whatever????
